The Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill program

The Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) program allows Medicare Advantage (MA) plans to offer services such as non-medical transportation, meal support, home modifications another “general supports for living” to certain populations. According to ATI Advisory, a research and advisory firm in Washington, DC, as of March, there were at least 245 plans offering one or more of the SSBCI options but that number could increase now as CMS has offered rare flexibility to plans to increase their benefit packages mid-year.  Read article here…
