JAMA studies show 25 percent of Medicare beneficiaries can’t access telehealth visits

In a recent pair of studies published in JAMA Internal Medicine, one study found more than percent of Medicare beneficiaries lacked access to a computer with high-speed internet access at home and almost percent lacked a smartphone with a wireless data plan.  The second study found, an estimated 13 million seniors in the United States were not prepared for video visits at all, mostly due to inexperience with technology.
