Medicare Advantage plans are increasing the adoption of new supplemental benefits
One of the core values of the Medicare Advantage (MA) program is the acceleration of supplemental benefits. These non-medical have contributed to the significant growth of MA plans to the point where one in three Medicare beneficiaries are now enrolled in MA plans. Since the changes in 2018 and 2019, the scope of supplemental benefits was expanded to include benefits that support daily maintenance of health and address social determinants of health for beneficiaries with chronic disease.
