What would it mean if we lower Medicare’s eligibility age?

The current Administration is reportedly considering changing Medicare’s age eligibility requirements from 65 to 60. For millions of qualifying Americans, this has the potential to save them thousands of dollars a year on private-health plan premiums, copays, and out-of-pocket expenses. Also, “the proposed reform could even have life-saving implications.” According to a recent Stanford University study, it found “that diagnoses of certain cancers are disproportionately higher among people 65 and older, compared to those 64 and younger. The authors of the study concluded that many people are delaying their care for financial reasons until they get health insurance through Medicare.” Read the article here…
