Need to improve affordability for people with job-based insurance

Employer-based coverage provides more than 150 million Americans with health insurance. The average premium for a family plan has increased 55 percent since 2010. The average family premiums exceed $20,000, which is roughly the cost of buying a new car every year. So how do employers try to make insurance more affordable? Researchers suggest employers deal with increased health care costs in multiple ways, “including by limiting wage growth, increasing worker’s premium contributions, decreasing the generosity of their benefits, and reducing employment.” Read the article here…
