Are Cost –Sharing Requirements too High?

The average cost-sharing or health insurance deductibles has increased by 67 percent since the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was passed; whereas the average person earnings have only increased by 10 percent.

Deductibles were originally designed with the intention that people could easily afford them and gave the individual some choice over the decisions to purchase small dollar health care items leaving the insurer to pay for the expensive health care services.
