A Little Known Rule Allows You to Change Your Medicare Advantage Plan

In 2015, a policy concerning “special enrollment period” for Medicare Advantage plans went into effect. The change allows members to switch Medicare Advantage plans or join traditional Medicare if their current plan experiences a “significant” change in their provider network.   This does not apply to those plans that Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services oversees in the health care marketplaces.
