The Other Cost of Alzheimer’s

The Alzheimer’s Association surveyed 3,500 Americans who are caring for someone with dementia and found the personal financial burden associated with this disease. On the average, friends and family spent $5,000 a year of their own money on their loved one and some had to sell personal belongings to make ends meet.

Another finding of the survey was that two-thirds of Americans are confused on whether or not Medicare will help cover the costs; it won’t. Read article here…..
