“Medicare for All” Experiencing a Rebound of Sorts?
The early stages of the 2026 election cycle have produced some upsets, most notably by Democratic Socialists of America candidates with an eye toward big-government politics. Axios Media reporter Maya Goldman, in a post today on their site, suggests that last week’s win by Melat Kiros in the Colorado primary, for example, may indicate a voter preference for increased progressivity in key policy areas, like a single-payer health system. Ms. Goldman’s post, which you can read in full here, also comments on similar primary results in New York and Illinois and suggests an ideological alignment in areas where voter frustration bubbles select policy changes to the forefront.
