“Aging in Place” Concept Gets a Boost
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, along with former Louisiana Governor and chair of the Center for a Healthy America at the America First Policy Institute, today released an insightful opinion piece highlighting steps the Trump Administration has taken in support of the “Aging at Home” or “Aging in Place” option for America’s seniors. The article cites “(a)dvances in artificial intelligence, telehealth, remote monitoring, home health services, and new care delivery models” as examples of sociological and technological progress toward making this aging option more available to a growing number of seniors. Gingrich and Jindal summarize their analysis with the suggestion that the concept of in-home aging support can lead to “bringing care to the patient rather than forcing patients into institutions.
