The Pricing of Fetal Tissue

A special House Panel is investigating the transfer of fetal tissue from aborted babies and will present evidence in a hearing showing the “list” price for body parts in effort to see if federal law may have been violated.

The procurement of tissues/body parts are performed by companies acting as the middleman to supply institutions or other organization with the tissues for their research. It is legal to provide and accept payment to cover reasonable costs for “transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control or storage of human fetal tissue. However, under federal law, the transportation of fetal tissue is based on a nonprofit model. Read article here…..
