Cutting Down on People Gaming the System
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced on Friday, May 6, 2016 that they are tightening the rules for enrolling in one of Obamacare’s special sign-up periods. With the intent to cut down on people “gaming” the system, the change announced requires people to have coverage at some point in the preceding 60 days, prior to signing up due to a “move” in residence.
