Eighty-five percent of hospitals will see increase in overall Medicare Part B payments in 2018

According to a new analysis from Avalere Health, 85 percent of hospitals will see an increase in overall Medicare Part B payments in 2018 due to increases in payment for non-drugs and services despites cuts to reimbursement in the 340B drug program. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has estimated that the calendar year 2018 Medicare Outpatient Prospective Payment System rule will result in an overall increase of about $690 million compared to 2017 payments.
