Medicare premium Increase for 8 million Americans looks increasingly likely
Sarah Ferris, reporting yesterday on thehill.com, reports that the possibility of averting an expected increase of over 50% in monthly Medicare premiums for an estimated 8 million Americans appears to be waning after the October 15 announcement of a zero 2016 Social Security COLA became official. Spending discussions are of course continuing in the weeks ahead, but the likelihood of warding off what government officials call an “unintended consequence” of the budget issue appears to be vanishing.
