4,800 patients accounted for $2.1B in drug spend last year, study finds

The number of patients who need costly specialty drugs is sharply increasing, according to a recent study by Prime Therapeutics.
Specialty drugs that treat complex conditions, such as cancer, can cost between $500,000 and $2 million. These drugs now make up more than 50 percent of total drug spending, according to Prime. Continue reading article here…
