Enrolling in Medicare at 65

For many Americans turning 65 is a milestone.  Although, 65 is the traditional age at which we start thinking seriously about retirement, it is also the time to think about enrolling in Medicare.  Remember while most people think Medicare and Social Security are one in the same program, which they are not, you’re allowed to sign up for one without the other.  In other words, if you enroll in Medicare in time for your 65th birthday, you can still hold off on claiming Social Security.
