False Hope in Treating Lyme Disease Symptoms?

On Wednesday, the New England Journal of Medicine published results from a clinical trial stating the long-term antibiotic treatment of Lyme disease doesn’t help those individuals suffering from the chronic aches and pains after the initial course of antibiotic treatment.

The distractors of this study, International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, or ILADS, states the study was flawed due to not having enough people (281) in the study and not using a sufficiently aggressive antibiotic regimen or continuing the therapy long enough to eradicate the hidden infections.
